Nice to meet you. What do you do?

I blog, and write short stories.  I am also writing a novel which is taking me such a long time… too long I think…..  when is to long? and how does one know when it is time to let the sh*t hit the fan?

Tea Party Religious Trist with Sharia ?

Published July 5, 2014 by debrabellink

A time of lamentation has brought me to blog these thoughts.  I feel that for my own emotional as well as mental health it would be healthy for me to vomit this out to the blogosphere, and get it out of my being.

I find the religious goings on in the Evangelical Right Wing Republican party to be nothing less than a beginning to the ripping apart of the fabric of what the United States represents and has represented since it’s founding.  There were reasons why our founding fathers separated religion from government and gave us freedom FROM other religions whose believers might want to hijack the wall between religion and personal private lives of those who might not practice or believe in that particular religion, or that particular god.

In my life, which has not been a short one, I do not remember a division among Americans as there is right now. the division cuts in multiple ways ; class, race, political party, religion, rich, poor, young and old.

I believe it is a fact, and of course these are my own beliefs and opinions, that there can be no compromise with those on the right.  they seem to be stiff necked, stubborn, and quite frankly hateful and uncaring, particularly uncaring of their fellow Americans who might not have the same advantages as they do.    all the United States has to offer has become a money grab…  college, food, roads, school, nutritional school lunches are even under fire.     what has become of the fact that we used to look out for the other American backs…   we used to look out for each other.   Now , even when a natural disaster befalls a state, which happens to be a ‘blue’ state, the reds don’t want to give disaster help.   what is happening to us… are we red against blue?

It behooves me greatly to see the hyper-religiosity on the right.  and it does feel a bit uncomfortable as I read news pieces where judges on state supreme courts want to turn America into a theocracy.  wouldn’t that be just as though we have invited the Arabs here to show us their Sharia law?    that is what a theocracy is.

our ancestors came to this country to have the right to worship in freedom and peace.  what will we tell them and how can we honor them if we turn this country into a theocratic fascist state?

You who do these things should be embarrassed, and hang your heads in shame for the men and women who have fought battles all over the world, those who have died, spilled blood so we could all have the America they knew they were fighting for.

why bother the fight, especially now in the middle east against ISIS….  you on the right seem to be in cahoots with them…  it is the same.  theocracy…a Christian united states and ISIS Islamic  caliph. sharia?   and the right wing…  God, I never thought I would see this day, and I have to say….. I am glad I am not young anymore.  My concern now is for my children and grandchildren.

thank you for taking the time to read.

BoB Jones Get A Grip

Published June 21, 2014 by debrabellink

A woman is always a target for those who do not understand the female sexual being.  It is hard to believe that anyone in this day and age, except of course if one is susceptible  to sharia law, to understand how anyone can be so undeniably stupid as to think a woman who is raped was ‘asking for it”,  or even worse, has committed a sin which brought this horror upon herself.  Sounds insane doesn’t it.  Well that is exactly what the Jones church has said to a girl who was raped just the other day.  She was told to pray, for if this happened to her than there must have been some sin that she herself committed to have been raped…

So, then it stands to reason that the rapist is forgiven, but his victim is praying and is forever reminded of some terrible sin that she committed to have gotten herself raped….. what in the world, the sin world, could be so bad as to call upon oneself such an act of defilement to a young woman??

Children of The Damned ?

Published January 11, 2014 by debrabellink

“Is it wrong that I’m smiling right now?”

“They’re children of Buono voters.” Buono voters. children of Buono voters?

Hey, er, are they kin to – DA–DUH!–the children of the damned?

Far from it, but you wouldn’t think so.  Heck, just the phrase –children of –wwweeeewww–Buono voters conjures up some p-r-e-t-t-y sinister thoughts.. don’t it though?

What exactly is a buono ? she is the Democrat  who ran against Christie in last November’s gubernatorial race.

Chris Christie endeared himself to me last year when super storm Sandy hit N.J., Staten Island, LI. and N.Y.C.  His tough , get it done,,’ bravado and more than open hand he extended to president Obama led me to believe he was a bipartisan governor doing everything and anything to help the people devastated by the incredible storm.

The spotlight lit Christie like the bright rising star that he obviously thought he was. A moderate republican when there were nearly no moderates left.

A breath of fresh air.

press conferences yet to come would find christie  calling one young man who questioned him  an, “idiot.” I gather he didn’t care for the question.

A parent standing in one room pleaded with Christie to stop taking money from public schools for, what was the difference. “Your children,” she said, “attend private schools.” (with helicopter pick up, I should add.) To her he said, “mind your own damn business.”

Now, I don’t know ’bout my readers, but I didn’t feel comfortable, nor would I put my friendship or, more importantly, my vote in the corner of a man who bullied and insulted anyone; no matter the ‘reasoning’.  If he calls people morons, idiots, and  busy bodies, or, as he did a few weeks ago, call Rachael Maddow a ”have nothing better to do liberal, who makes up lies”, out in front of the T.V. cameras, what must he call these same people when behind closed doors ?

already it is known that  six to eight persons in his inner sanctum knew of the  three lane closures on the G.W.  the closures began over 100 days before Christie says he first was apprised of the traffic nightmare.

two days go by, then five.  I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and throw out ten days—okay, okay, give it twenty—twenty days !      BUT… let’s not think for one second that he had no idea on the 50th day, or the 80th, for crying out loud.

anyone who knows the way Christie operates his administration knows he runs an extremely tight ship… of this I feel quite sure… being the uncouth bully that he certainly seems to have shown himself to be.  a stray secretary might not have had an inkling what was going on, but his chief of staff ?, his campaign manager of approx. six years, and the friend of his since high school, the man who pleaded the fifth to every single question posed to him?

In  his heart, he is not a liar he said… and Nixon, I remember,  said,  ”I am not a crook…”  bull… to  both.

what could have made those most trusted around him feel they would make their boss, the governor, happy to have emergency vehicles stopped, school buses filled with kids—kids, on the way to their first day back at school after Christmas vacay, stopped and at least one 911 call, to which the ambulance did not arrive in a timely manner because of the nightmarish traffic, ended in death for a woman who suffered from chest pains.

after chris Christie held a press conference for almost two hours, consisting mostly of his own feelings of being, insulted, lied to, saddened, and just blind sided, I wondered how he could be so irresponsible as to appoint people who he had no idea would do this to him… after all, he had said his administration were like family… not a big happy family to be sure, or… maybe they were. BUT I do believe instead of focusing on your own feelings, you should have been focusing on the people of ft. Lee and beyond… was the character you showed during Sandy a farce? a phony act to get money for your state.

If you work for a good man or woman, a caring civil servant, one who is supposed to be looking out for the good of the common people of his state, congressional district or the country and people to which he has promised to protect, there should not be a kernel of a thought that…oh, yes, closing what might as well be an entire side of a major bridge would be an incredibly AWSOME idea.  who, of those that are right and fair and civic-minded would give  something such as that even one half second thought.

Its called character. the servant of the people should have it, and those he or she surrounds their selves with, should be mined for it.

Obviously character is something hiz honor is sorely lacking, and obviously character means NADA to you Governor Christie.  Keep it up!  I don’t believe you have this thing called character which I think is a thing you should have inside if you are  thinking of running for the highest office of these United states, much less governor of the great state of new Jersey.

shame on you gov… you fooled me once,  it won’t happen again, I PROMISE..

Religious beliefs are scooping at the bottom of the Cliffs of Freedom

In this country, abortion still is safe and legal. However, to look into the columns of newspapers, or to listen to news from television outlets, one would think abortion was not yet legal, but being debated.
the truth is abortion is being debated, and it is legal, so the question remains, why debate something which is already a law.
backwards. that is the word. the perfect word for the teapublicans. I don’t know that there is a republican party anymore. it has morphed into something which has no feelings, no hearts. almost like a sy fi flick, you know the ones, where the aliens take over the town, the cops, and I quess the politicians.
number one on todays blotter is Virginia Gov, Mcdonell, or gov. ultra sound. He is a monsterous display of hypocritical decadence. the gov also loves women. oh yes, he loves women so much he wants us all to be treated with the utmost indignity. no, that’s not a mistake. the word is indignity, if there be a worse word then fill it right in its place.
New health regulations are forcing the closure of many women’s clinics. the closures are due to having the wrong spaces in parking lots as well as bad hallways inside the clinics., now what these no nos have to do with women’s health care is way over my head, and i’m sure it goes way over yours as well.. ya think? the health commissioner Cynthia c. romero resigned, because, she said, ” of the extreme health care law faux pas” the state health board was apparently bullied into passing the health laws.
back to righteous Cynthia, she is now renting the gov’s house, probably very comfortably one would think. so, job or no job cyn is sitting pretty.

Mr mcdonell please, before the egg on your face gets so thick you’ll need a chisel to get it off, resign my friend, resign.
